Founded in 2006, By Niecy Dennis White; WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT GLOBAL ALLIANCE (WDGA) is a global, innovative 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Within our 18-year history, WDGA has inspired youth in the USA and Kenya to remain committed to their education by highlighting the connections between the classroom and the workroom and exposing youth to career opportunities. Job Shadow days, internship experiences, workshops, coaching, and tutoring resulted in improved academic performance.
WDGA is driven by its mission to serve students holistically by providing a sense of purpose and making a difference in their fragmented lives. Over 3,500 students have benefitted from the program in the USA and Kenya and many have successful careers. WDGA has targeted and served youth and families who are dealing with unprecedented levels of challenges such as depression, lack of motivation and concentration, Social Media addiction, general anxiety, academic problems, drug abuse, household dysfunction, teenage pregnancies, parental disrespect, animosity between peers, anger outbursts, domestic violence, and food insecurity.
Empowering Youth for today's workforce has been our FOUNDING FOCUS while providing family support. The 3steps2work Program is a lifeline for broader family engagement and relationships. Those 3 Steps are: STEP 1 - Empowering Youth to Get Along - Dealing with anger, conflict, personal leadership, and improved relations; STEP 2 Get Ahead - Youth career development, employment, and entrepreneurship; and STEP 3 - Connect Family. At WDGA, character and integrity development are seen as essential to maintaining peace, meeting the human resources needs of employers, and advancing overall economic growth. The result helps youth and their families work toward realizing their life goals while becoming productive, responsible citizens and providing strong community support for the betterment of society.
